FOOTBALL
The match for the Bracken Cup between Poro Poro (challengers) and. Ruatoki (holders) was played at .Huatoki on Saturday. Ruatoki succeeded in retaining the cup, winning 17-11. Permission has been obtained from the Whakatane Rugby Union for a Maori team selected locally to play a match against Manukau at Onehunga on 6ctober 8. The team will be selected very shortly and keen interest is being sh'own in the proposed trip.
