Auckland, Monday. In the near* future a survey of oil prospecting areas in the East Coast district is to be carried out by a party of geologists and engineers, who arrived at Auckland by the Mariposa. The survey is being carried out as the result of an agreement entered into between Taranaki New Zealand Oil Fields Ltd., and the Vacuum Oil Company Pty., of America. The party is headed by Dr. E. Jablonski, one of the expert geologists employed by the Vacuum Oil Company. He is accompanied by Mr. C. St.J. Bremner and Mr. N. Steinedke, and on arrival at Auckland, they were joined by Mr. C. N. Taylor, representing the Taranaki Company. The party will leave for Gisborne this week.
