REPAIRING TUBES

When an inner tube bursts suddenly and you inspect it you usually find a split an inch or two long. If this is repaired in the ordinary manner, with a patch on the outside, after a short time the split lcngthens, and you are in trouble again. The following method has proved much more ! permanent: — At either end of the split - cut a small round hole and tum the inside edges of the slit out so they can he cleanqd. Then insert and cement a patch on the inside of the tube, and when dry cement the usuai patch on the outside. A small piece of tissue j paper inserted will prevsnt the chance j of the patch sticking to the other j side of the tube when pressed down. J
