CAR STEALING
FORM OF KLEPTOM ANIA ? No fewer than 2394 cars were stolen in the streets of Paris during 1931, but 1415 of them were in cne way or another returned to their owners. In a great number of cases cars were brought back and parked close to the spot whence they had been stolen. Many of them were quite .probahly "borrowed" for a joy-ride, but the Paris police have another theory. Certain people, it appeai's, react in a most extraordinary way to | the sight of an unattended car standing hy the kerh. They may he quite honest, but a violent impulse, brainstorm, or what-not, seizes them and they "come over all queer like." In spite of themselves, they simply must jump into the car and drive away. Follows a lucid interval, presumahly, i and they bring back the car to ap- | proximately the spot whence it was taken.
