SEVERE INJURIES
MAN KICKED BY BEGGAR FOR REFUSING ALMS. Sydney, Monday. Followed on to a tram by a man whose demand for money he had refused, Jarnes Dole, 35, valet, of Hughes Street, Potts Point, was kicked on the nose in Elizabeth Street, city, last night, and had to be treated later in Sydney Hospital for severe laoerations. The attacker had previously threatmed Dole that if he did not give money he would get his medicine. Dole ran to the tram stop at the corner of Market and Elizabeth Streets, and swung himself aboard a Quay-bound car. Hardly had he taken his seat than his assailant jumped into the same compartmmt, and, grabbing holc. of Ihe rail to give himself a leve.age, viciously kicked Dole on the face and the body. As other passengers ross to go to Dole's aid, the man jumped off the tram and disappeared.
