The film is the much-discussed "Are These Our Children?" which opened last night at the Majestic, and firmly established itseK as a momentous contribution to -motion • pictures. Peyhaps no picture of recent times has utilized a modern social problem as effectively and entertainingly as "Are These Our Children?" The story concerns an intimate group of high, school children — a cross section of iany such group, anywhere — and focuses itself on them individually and collectively as | they are related to their environment. A boy, with all the benefits of a good family baclcground, fiirts | with adventure, becomes involved in j . a tragedy of circumstance and emer- I ges from that experience a super- ; egotist who jibes at life, the law and I traditions until the end finds him I eontrite and meek — but only when '• ; it is too late. ! j The boy is played by a newcomer ■ to the screen, Eric Linden, who is j known to the New York Stage as one | of the finest actors developed by the I Theatre Guild — America's greatest I dramatic group.
