ar The Government meteorolo'gist issued the following weather report and forecast last night:— General situation: The first of a series of westerly depressions has been crossing the Dominion to-day. Forecast: Winds westerly, moderate to strong generaliy, and in piaces reaching gale force,, iater becoming more northeriy again. • Weather: A temporary improveT.e.ht j;n mo$t d.istricts, but , be.cQrjij.ng. unsettled again shortly in districts with a westerly aspect and high country; further rain developing with Isome heavy falls in the eastern districts; temperatures moderate. Following are the barometer, maximum and minimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observatidn Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department For the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday.
Barometer .... 30.079ins. Thermometer (max.) 62.0deg. Thermometer (min.) 44.9deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 35.7deg. Rainfall Nil Bright Sunshine 7.7hrs.
