Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held their usual weekly stock sale at Frankton saleyavds on Tuesday, 30th August, as under: — Fat Sheep: — An average yarding and prices unchanged, except for prime fat ewes, which sold at higher rates. Fat wethers (medium weight) sold at up to 14s; inferior wethers, 11s 6d to 12s 3d. Extra prime fat ewes sold at up to 11s 2d; medium quality ewes, 8s 1 1 d ; inferior, 7s 5d; fat lambs, 9s to 13s. Fat cattle: — An average yarding and fat liullocks sold at late rates, .but prime heifer and moderate quality, sold at an advance on late rates. We sold extra prime bullocks at up to £8 8s; medium quality, £5 12s 6d to £6 10s; small and inferior quality, £3 11s to £4 8s; best fat cows, £4 10s to £6 12s 6d; prime heifers, £4 10s to £5 5s; inferior quality cows, £2 16s to 93 5s; small runners, 26s to 31s; inferior, 12s. Store sheep: — A pen of store hoggets made 8s 6d. . Store cattle: — There was a fair yarding and prices were a shade better than usual, especially in young fresh conditioned heifers and cows of good quality. We sold a pen of store conditioned Shorthorn bullocks at £3 17s; 4- and 5-year-old hardconditioned, £3 2s to £3 8s; 3-yeai steers, £2 ls; a pen of empty P.A, heifers, £2 16s; Shorthorn empty 3year heifers, £2 12s; a pen of Jersey yearling- heifers, £2 16s. Pigs: — There was a medium yarding- of fat pigs and a full yarding of stores. Baconors advanced at up to 4s per head on last week's rates. The demand for porkers was strong. Store ond weaner pigs advanced appreciably on last week's rates. We quote as under : — • Best baconers, 38s to 42s; mediun

baconers, 35s to 37s 6d; best porkers at up to 32s; medium, 25s to 28s; large stores, 18s to 21s; medium, 15s to 17s 6d; best weaners, 14s 6d; others, 7s 6d to 12s 6d; sows, close to profit, £3 to £3 10s.
