DISCOVERY II. LEAVES ON VOYAGE INTO LONELY SEAS

Wellington, Wednesday. The Royal research ship Discovery II. will leave Wellington at seven o'clock to-morrow morning on the final stage of a voyage of circumnavigation of the Atlantic Ocean. The ship will fill her bu,nkers to-day with sufficient fuel oil to last several months. She will touch the fringe of the ice in Ross Sea, then head in a northeasterly direction until she fetches to the nortliwai'd line of where the Antarctic current meets those from warmer latitudes. She will then again proceed on a south-easterly course to the ice. Thence she will head for the Falkland Islands, where she is due in ahout six weeks.
