WORST OVER
TROUBLE IN MANAWATU Palmerston N., Wednesday The Manawatu River has appreciably subsided. The flood waters are receding and all danger is considered over, though a large area is still inundated. All the marooned families are safe. ( The main highway and the railway from Palmerston North to Foxton are still impassable. The Manawatu Gorge road is open, though' care is needed in traversing it.
