wcr;-' — SCIENTISTS ASSEMBLE TO OBSERVE PHENOMENON IN NEW ENGLAND

Rec. Aug. 30. 7 p.m. Conway, New Hampshire, Aug. 29. Twenty-five expeditions, including scientists from all parts of the world, have assembled here ' with elaborate equipment to make observations of the eclipse of the sun at 3.30 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon. Although astronomers predominate among the observers, there are also chemists, meteorologists, psychists and biologists, and all are prepared to study the phenomena from the viewpoint of their problems. Besides the various instruments, a crane from the ground, an aeroplane, autogiro and balloons will be used, all carrying cameras and other devices. One aerial expedition plans to ascend five miles for observation. The totality area- lies over the not(ed summer resort district of Nevf England, and the event has created great popular interest. The whole countryside is crowded with visitors.
