ASSAULTED BY THUGS
VIOLENT ATTACK ON MAN AND WIFE. SYDNEY, Sat. • Frederick Streeter, horse-trainer, of Dundas-sti*eet, Coogee, and his wife were assulted by two thugs at a lonely spot on the Sutherland reserve last night. Mr. and Mrs. Streeter were returning from a sight-seeing excursion through a stretch of dense bush country when two men came into view. "Good night!" said one. The next instant, Mr. Streeter found himself being held by the throat by one stranger, while the other attacked his wife. Mrs. Streeter, struggling and screaming, broke loose and rushed at the footpad who was dealing blows at her husband's faee. But the strain proved too much for her, and she collapsed. Her handbag containig 14s, and other property, was snatched, and the attackers fled. Detectives Stinson and Sfwift took up the hunt for the men.
