The Rotorua Junior representative team was defeated by Matamata by 5 points to nil in the Clark Cup competitions, played at Matamata on Saturday. Soon after the commencement of the match, Matamata broke away and scored the only try of the game, which was converted. Playing a considerably heavier pack, the Rotorua forwards were beaten in the tight, but this disadvantage was counterbalanced by the standard of the backs who were superior to those of the home team.
