THE WEATHER
The Government meteorologist issued the following weather repo'rt and forecast last night: — General situation: A vigorous depression has crossed the Dominion and a moderate anti-cyclone is now advancing to the westward. Forecast: Winds moderate to strong northerlies. Weather: Unsettied with showers in most districts and further heavy falls in the Cook Strait area; conditions improving, however, soon in the Western districts, and gradually elsewhere; cold temperatures. Following are the barometer, maximum and minimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 SATURDAY Barometer 30.3l9ins. Thermometer (max.) 56.2deg. Thermometer (min.) 35.0deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 25.6deg. Rainfall Nil Bright Sunshine 3.1hrs. SUN DAY Barometer 30.116ins. Thermometer (max.) 55.8deg. Thermometer (min.) .... 49.2deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 45.7deg. Rainfall Trace Bright Sunshine 1.3hrs.
