STOCK SALES
FRANKTON The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Gompany, Limited, report having held their weekly stock sale at Frankton yards yesterday as follows: — Sheep were penned in average numbers, prices being firmer than at recent saies. We quote: — Extra heavy prime wethers, 14s 3d to 16s 6d; medium, 11s 3d to 13s; good hoggets, 9s 6d to 10s" 9d; smaller, 8s to 9s; no ewes were penned. Cattle:— Only a small yarding of cattle dame forward resulting in a sharp rise. We quote: — Medium quality bullocks, £6 3s to £7 4s; small and unfinished steers, £3 10s to £4; fat cows, £3 10s to £4 5s; killable cows, £2 9s to £3 6s; boncr cows, 12s 6d to £1; yearling Jersey heifers, to £2 9s. Pigs: — There was a small yarding of fat pigs and a large entry of stores and weaners. Fat pigs were firm at late rates, but stores and weaners were lower than last week due to the large entry. We quote: — Medium baconers, £1 12s to £1 14s; heavy porkers, £1 5s to £1 10s; medium porkers, £1 4s to £1 6s; light, £1 to £1 2s; large stores, 17s to £1; medium stores, 14s to 16s; slips, 10s to 14s; good weaners, 10s to 12s; small weaners, 6s to 8s.
