DUNEDIN SENSATION GIRL STUNNED BY HEAVY BLOW AND TILL RIFLED ASSAILANT ESCAPES

Dunedin, Thursday. A daring robbery with violence occurred at 11 o'clock this morning in the order-receiving office of Messrs Jackson and Purdie, coal merehants, George Street, which occupies part of the premises of Hart's umbrella shop. A girl, Winnie Smith, had passed througlL the door to the back premises, and on re-entering received a stunning blow on the head from a man of whom slie caught hut a glimpse. . Althoug'h several shops face this one nohody nociced anything suspicious, and it was two minutes before the girl was sufficiently recovered to report the affair. About £19 was taken from the till.
