THE WEATHER
The Government meteorologist issued the following weather report and vforecast last night: — GeYieral situation: An intensive ' anti-cyclone is still centred over the Dominion, while a westerly depression is moving over the South Tasman Sea. Forecast: Winds, south-easterly, at first, north of Kawhia and East Cape; otherwise northerlies prevailing, light to moderate generally, but freshening gradually. Weather: Still fine ge'nerally at first, but clouds increasing in districts with a westerly aspect, some showers developing later; temperatures beconyng milder. Following are the barometer, maximum and minimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Sta~^tion by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. Barometer -.... 30.4S2ins. Thermometer (max.) 57.0deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 24.8deg. Rainfall Nil Bright Sunshine 9.4hrs.
