Frankton rates ' were maintained on fat sheep and cattle, priqes for store cattle being • slightly easier than last week. A | large number of dairy cattle was penned which met with brisk bid~ ding. The heifers were of good quality and were in keen demand. Pigs: — A full yarding of both fat and store pigs came forward. HORSE FAIR The New Zealand Loan and Mercantlle Agency Company, Limited, Hamilton, report Raving held a -horse fair at Ngaruawahia on Friday, when just on 65 horses of all classes came forward. The majoiity of the horses were only medium qualiiy farm horses, i there being a scarcity of best type I Competiiion generally was very brisk, practically the whole offering being sold at prices higher than venaors' reserves. The top price was paid by Mr. Charles Rickard for a particularly fine niare belonging to Mr. M. Wilson, of Taupiri. First-class heavy farm horses realised from £24 to £34; good heavy draughts, £19 to £23; best quality young di'aughts, £14 to £17 10s; useful farm horses, £6 to £12; unbroken 3- and 4-year horses, good quality, £13 10s to £18; others, £10 10s to ' £12 10s.
