Ottawa, August 29. Neither the Australian nor New Zealand agreements is yet initialled. Some elauses are being re-drafted but will be concluded before midnight. The meat duties are xlefinitely dropped. There will be a restriction on Argentine meat under the agreement, by which the total foreign meat exports shall not exceed a certain figure. Australia and New Zealand have not succeeded in obtaining their full butter or fruit demands, which have undergone considerable modification. Nevertheless, Messrs Bruce and Coates, while not enthusiastic, are prepared to sign the agreements, which they describe as a satisfactory compromise.
