BIG HAUL IN MELBOURNE

Melb'ourne, August 18. In two sensational hold-ups bandits succeeded in getting away with over £10,000 worth of diamonds. On his way from Daylesford to Ballarat, Mr. H. Lewis, diamond merchant, was robbed of £9000 worth, and in South Melbourne two women were rohhed of £160 worth. In each case masked men presented guns, and in the second attack three shots were fired after Miss Ellen Heinze, who was attempting to escape with a bag of diamonds.
