SCIENTIFIC AND INDUSTRIAL : SUB-COMMITTEE IN ROTORUA Yesterday Mr. J. P. Luke (chair- I man), Mr. H. Vickerman (engineer) and Dr. E. Marsden (secretary) of i the Department of Scientifie and In- - dustrial Research, visited Rotorua in connection with forestry matters. It- is understood that they have been appointed a sub-committee to act with the Forestry Department to present a report upon the possibilities of developing industrial use of the State forests. They inspected some of the forestry areas and con- ; ferred with the conservator, Mr. W. T. Morrison. They left Rotorua "on ' the return journey to Wellington early this morning.
