THE WEATHER
The Government meteorologist issued the following weather report and forecast last night: — General situation: The recent depression is now moving away eastward; a very intensive anti-cyclone covers eastern Australia. Forecast: Winds, south-westerly to southerly, moderate mainly, but strong in exposed positions. Weather: Further showers in the far south and on scattered parts of . the coast and elsewhere, but otherwise fair to fine; cold nights but miid day temperatures. Following are the barometer, maxim um and minimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Statlon by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. Barometer 29.716ins. Thermometer (max.) .... .... 53.2deg. Thermometer (min.) 45.6deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 36.7deg. Rainfall .... .... 0,63ins. Bright Sunshine Nil
