AFFRAY WITH COMMUNISTS. ! Two Communists, a man and a woman, interrupted the National Conference of Lahour Women at Brigh- { ton, England, and when Miss Susan , Lawrence, the chairman, threatened ! to have the galleries cleared, the man i shouted defiantly: "Clear it now." | Stewards — all women — rushed forward and tackled the man, hut were j unahle to move him. This is what j followed: One; steward tore off the man's cap and a second seized his hair. a third threw her arms around his neck and hung on desperately; a fourth punched him on the chest and face; a fifth rained blows on his back. 1 The man did not retaliate, hut held his ground. Police whistles were hlown and two or three men who were in the building came to the rescue. The man was then removed. ' The woman interrupter hung on to the balcony railings, and her hands were forced off and a wrestling match with a woman steward followed. Woman and steward rolled on the floor locked in each other's arms. Eventually the woman was carried out struggling and screaming. j
