death under anaesthetlc At a Paddington inquest on a inan aged 32, who died while under an anaesthetic given for the purpose of teeth extraction, a docter said that about two minutes after he had given the anaesthetic the patient collapsed. , Finding things were desperate he put the patient on the floor of the surgery and opened the abdomen to massage the heart in the hopes ' of restoring its action. There was, however no response. The docter added he had seen this done before. He had given over 50,000 anaesthetics and not one death had resulted. The Coroner : That is a splendid record. I mnst congratulate yoii on that, and also upon the step' you took to massage the heart. While reeording his verdict the coroher said he was perfectly satisfied that there was no ojie .to hlame.
