OTTAWA, Tuesday. The "meat battle" raged again tohi: and neither side gave way, Mr. Brae? (Australia) and Mr. Caates (Xew Zealand) conferred with the British Ministers this afternoon for several hours, the only break being a qaarter of an hour taken for a walk Eiross to the railway station to hid farewell to Lord Bessborough, who is feparting on a tour of Western Canaia. Ihe stern fight was then resumed ail it was finally decided that both riles should sleep on it. Mr. Bruee emphasised that he must isist on a reasonably fair agreement. Hepointed out, in the clearest posible terms, that he will not he torehi into the acceptance of an agreemt unsatisfactory to Australia. He iisclosed that it was unlikely there rald be any difficulty regarding Britain's acceptance of the proposed Australian and New Zealand terms for avothor commodities.
