The Government meteorologist sued the following weather report and forecast last night: — General situation: A rather deep depression. is passi'ng .oyer the southern extre.mity of the Dominion to-day; barometers have risen rapldly over Eastern Australia. Forecast: Winds,. .fresh. to str.ong ..nor^ theri.ies.at first, but a "change to strong southerlies is setting in shortly over the Dominion during the next 24 hours. Weather: Unsettled with fairly ;generai rain at first, mainly in districts with a westerly aspeot, but extending later to southern djstricts; terpperatures milder, but becoming colder toI Following are the barometer, maximum and minimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. Barometer 30.175ins. Thermometer (max.) 51.6deg. Thermometer (min.) 44.9deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 43i2deg. Rainfall .... 0.26ins, Bright Sunshine 2.1hrs.
