ROTORUA TEAMS FAIL TO TAKE FJELD ON SATURDAY Although four games were scheduled to be p'layed at Arawa Park or. Saturday, the Old Boys'-Waiklte draw was the only one that materialised, no other teams turning up to fulfil their engagements. Waikite field cd a very weak side but was successful in defeating Old Boys, in a Mitchell Shield match, by six points to three after a very poor exhibition of Rugby The winners gained a penalty kick early in the game, their opponents evening up the points by scoring a try shortly before half-time. Play showed no improvement in the second half, although Old Boys made repeated attempts to throw the ball about, but these movements lacked snap and no material advantage was gain. Waikite secured a further try from a five yards scrum which gave them the lead, and the remainder of the game lapsed into an exhibition of a very scraggy nature, with no further score being registered.
