AUCKLAND, Thursday. Unless some assistance is forthcoming very shortly the Waro Coopei ative Colliery at Hikurangi will definitely elose down on September 9, and. throw an additional 170 men on the unemployment list. The managing director of the colliery said the Wilson's Cement Company had over 5000 tons of coal stacked, and had been very generoits with its offer to take 400 tons a week in future (instead of 800 tons). The Unemployment Board had already refused assistance in the way of a generator and pumps for the mine or in any other direction. The mine cannot carry on under these conditions, and unless some assistance eomes from the Government or someone else the mine will stop workixig.
