WANGAEHU BUTTER

POPULAR IN SCOTLAND. HIGHER PRICE REALISED. WANGANUI, Monday. "We have nothing but praise for your shipments of butter throughout the season," stated a letter from the agents of the Wangaehu Dairjr Factory which was read to the annual meeting of the shareholders held at Wangaehu. During the past season the factory, departing from its usual custom of sending its butter to London to be sold, sent it north to Staffotdshire and Scotlandj two alleged "strongholds of Danish butter. Reporting on the saies made, the agents said that the Wangaehu butter was of a uniformly high quality and that it found full favour with the buying public. Yesterday a cabls was received from the company's agents stating that a further consignment of butter sent to the north had realised 108s, whereas the ruling price at the present time is 106s. It was stated to the meeting that it seemed certain that another id in the lb bonus would be paid to shareholders before the end of the season. Not only is the Wangaehu butter popular in these two northern centres, but it is also sought in London and the south of England. There was a large attendance at the meeting, some 100 being present. Mr. S. Woodhill was re-elected to the position of chairman for the coming year and, with him, Messrs. B. J. Castles and F. Johnston were elected as directors.
