THE WEATHER
The Government meteorologist i«sued the following weather report and forecast last night: — General situation: The anti-cyclone covering the Dominion has been interrupted somewhat, while a cyclone to the north-west has remai'ned practically stationary. Forecast: Winds light to moderate and variable in most parts of the South Isiandj elsewhere moderate fo strong easterlies to south-easterlies, Teaching gale force in places north of Cook Strait. Weather: , Cloudy and unsettled in the north and east coast districts of the North island, with scattered rain a'iid some heavy fallcs probable in North Auckland; elsewhere fair to fine_- Cold temperatures. Following are the barometer, maximum and minnnum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. . . Barometer 30.2831ns. Thermometer (max.) 53-.6deg. Thermometer (min.) 29.6deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 23.2deg. Rainfall Nil Bright Sunshine 6.8hrs.
