MORRINSVILLE SALE The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company Ltd., report: — At Morrinsville stock sale yesterday a medium yarding of sheep and an extra good yarding of fat and store cattle. Late rates were maintained on sheep. There was a good attendance of butchers and prices for fat cattle were slightly in advance of last Morrinsville sale. All classes of store cattle met with good competition, and satisfactory prices were realised. Pigs: There were very few baconers yard'ed but a large entry of porkers, stores and weaners again came forward. Values for all classes of pigs remain'ed finn on a par with late saies. Dairy Cattle: A large number of dairy cattle met with brisk bidding. Out of a herd of 24 good quality Jorsey cows sold on account of Mr. W. G. Boyd Patetonga, 22 averaged £5 12/-. Heifers met with keen demand, particularly good quality heifers. Quotations: Sheep: Fat wethers up to 14/-, fat ewes 7/5 to 9/-, extra prime fat hoggets 13/6, others 9/- to 10/6, store 'ewes 2/6 to 3/9. Cattle: Heavy fat steers £6 12/-, medium fat steers £4 13/- to £5 5/-, light £3 19/- to £4, fat heifers prime £3 16/- to £5, lighter £3 5/- to £42/6, fat cows with runners £6 13/to £6 17/-, runners £2 17/- heavy fat cows £4 1/- to £4 14/-, medium £3 to £3 19/-, light £2 5 -/- to £2 15/-, killable cows 30/- to 37/-, sound empty young cows 30/- to £2 6/-, fresh store cows £1 to 26/-, boners 5/- to 16/-, forward cond. Shorthorn steers £3 3/- to £3 15/-, 18-mos. S.H. steers 36/-, 2yr-old empty S.H. heifers £2 11/-, 2yr-old empty Jersey heifers £2 to £3, choice Jersey yearling heifers £2 9/- to £3> others 30/- to 34/-, inferior sorts 15/- to 23/-. Dairy Cattle: Extra choice Jersey heifers £8 to £8 15/-, good quality Jersey heifers close to profit £7 to £7 15/-, more backward £4 to £5 5/-, other heifers (mixed) £2 15/- to £3 15/-, good quality Jersey cows £7 5/to £8, Jersey and Jersey cross cows £6 5/.- to £7, backward £5 5/- to £6, S.H. and Friesian cows, backward £-4 to £4 15/-, others £2 15/- to £3 15/-. Pigs: Baconers 35/- to £2 1/-, medium and heavy porkers 25/- to 27/-, light porkers 18/- to 23/-, stores 16/to 20/-, slips 9/- to 15/6, good weaners 10/- to 13/6, smaller weaners 6/to 9/-, maiden sows in pig £2 to £2 17/6, Tamworth crdss sows in p'ig £2 7/6 to £3, other sows backward £1 to 35/-, choppers 19/- to 21/-.
