CENTEN ARI AN ASKS TAILOR FOR SUIT TO WEAR WELL. ADELAIDE, Saturday. When just before his hundbedth birthday, John Vanstone, of Wandearah, asked his tailor to make him a suit to last six or seven years, his request was justified. On Thursday Mr. Vanstone will be 104 and he is believsd to be the State's oldest man. He remembers the coronation of
Queen Victoria, when he was a-lad of 10 in England, and delights in describing the celebrations at the school he was attending. . A century of hard work was begun when as a child of 8 he was employed at 6d a weed driving birds off crops in his native Devon, and continued on the land in South Australia. His participation in three gold rusfies, one copper rush, and seven years at hotelkeep'ing has left him still active and full of vitality.
