When he suggests that the Council should erect warning notices on the Paurenga area, they, knowing his ability, will nc doubt accede to his request at once, for there is .real danger to those unacquainted with this area, and Mr. Thompson is no scaremonger. I would suggest that Mr. Thompson be taken over this area, and demonstrate to the Council where the danger spots from this underground river ara. — I am, etc.

Maoris in the Wanganui districi ivill have to be married according tc European law to qualify for reliei work, according to a recmt decisior of the Wanganui Central Ununployment Committee. Maoris in the King Country have found that the same conditions apply to them, and couples who have been married according tr Maori tribal law for A3 long as thirty years are now taking out regulatior marriage registrations. Several "remarriages" took place recently, anc1 it is stated that another score is anticipated.
