THE WEATHER
The Government meteorologist iasued the following weather report and forecast last riight: — General situatiori: An anticyclone - extends over the Tasman Sea toward New Zealand, while a slight depression is crossing the southern district and another one is located over the northern portio'n of the Tasman. Forecast: Winds variable, mainly light to modCrate, but with southerlies predominating. Weather: Still mainly fair to fine v/ith some scattered showers probabie, more especiaSly in the far north and south; colder temperatures. Following are the barometer, maximum and mimmutn thermometer, sunshine, and rainfalS readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. Barometer 30,003ins. Thermometer (max.) 57.6deg. Thermometer (min.) 3Q.7deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 27.3deg. • Rainfall Nil Bright Su'nshine 5.0hrs.
