The Governor of New South Wales, Sir Philip Game, bad a narrow escape from serious injury recently, when he visited Hurstville to lay. the foundation stone of a new wing of St. George's Church. Sir Philip had just taken his seat next to the stone, which was suspended 5 feet from the ground, when th'e sheerlegs supporting it collapsed The stone, wqighing 3cwt., fell, iuckily a\vay from the Governor. A bystander had his face grazed as it fell.
