In response to a Government decree, recognising only civil marriage, Arehbishop Eijo, of Madrid, has j broadcast a decree that such marj riages mean living in sin and any , offspring are cannonically illegitij mate. People civilly married are not | eligible to act as God-parents or for I burial in consecrated ground. I •
