SYDNEY, Monday. Despite the fact that permission to hold a demonstration had been refused, 5000 congregated at Railway Square by the Central Station, but the police sternly suppressed the attempts of the Communists to form j a proeession. Several leaders were I arrested amid great excitement, during which a Communist banner w'as torn to ribbons. Women were prominent in the disturbance.
