After three days of very severe figthing General Ianaka's troops : routed General Machanshan's troops near Hailungfu, eastward of Tsitsihar, . yesterday. * W&r Office dispatches state that General Machanshan himself was identified among the 200 Chinese dead on the battlefield. General Machanshan was previously governor of one of the Chinese provinCes of Manchuria. He opposed th'e Japanese forees last September and subsequently assisted in the f ormation of the so-culled state of Manchoukou. He was appointed to varioUs oflices hut later vacated these and again took the field against the 'Japanese.
