CROCODILE FOR SALE
' NATIVE SOLVES TRANSPORT PROBLEM WITH BICYCLE. A erowd collected in Main Street, Kamplai, states Reuter's Nairobi correspoiident, when a native carefully dismounted from his bicycle outside a large store and asked if they bought crocodiles. "Show me a sample first," retorted the storekeeper, with a smile. The black went outside to his bicycle. Fastened along the main bar was a 6ft crocodile, with its head hanging over tha front wheel and its tail eurled round the carrier. The rep>tile was trundled into the shop, and it was bought for a few shillings. But almost immediately the purchaser came running after the seller, crying, "Come hack! This crocodile is dead!" "Only tired," replied the nathje. "Put him in water." The storekeeper obtained a long tin bath, and in it he placed the crocodile. Presently the reptile's eyes fliclcered, the tail twitcbed, and the great jaws snapped. Ten seconds later the shop was deserted — except for a somewhat livarish- crocodile.
