A very interesting lantern lecture was given in St. Stephen's Church on Friday evening1 when a Melanesian missionary, M11. De Vork, described the work done hy the missionaries to introduce Chiistianity into Melanesia. The lantern slides wei'e amusing and interesting pictures of scenes taken on the different islands in the pacific. Mr. De Vork left for Gisborne at the woek-end.
