SATURDAY, AUGUST 6th A BRITISH PICTURE The new British film, "Stamboul," which shows at the Grand Theatre on Saturday next, was produced at Elstree studios, and incl'udes in its exceptionally strong cast, the following well lcnown players, Rosita Moreno, who was seen in "The Santa Fe Trail," with Richard Arlen, Margot Grahame, Warwick Ward, Garry Marsh, Abraham Sofaer, Little Eric Pavitt, and Henry Hewitt. In "Stamboul" Miss Moreno takes a part which calls for great dramatic ability — that of a wife married to an unfaithful husband whom she is unable to leave because of her son. Miss Moreno is supported by a very strong cast of stage and screen artists and was directed by Dmitri Buchowetzki. "Stamboul" should set a new standard in British pictures. Australia is in for a feast of tenniss this year. In November, the American tennis team, consisting of Elmsworth' Vines, W. Allison, J. Ran Ryn, and one other, together with Mrs. Helen Wills-Moody, will arrive. lln January, Henri Cochet, with his rising young countryman, Merlin, will land. The New South Wales championships will probably he staged so as to allow the visitors to compete. With Crawford and Hopman in their present form, and Sproule benefiting by his trip overseas, as well as the presence of McGrath, Turnbull, Dunlop', Moon and the others, the championships should approach Wimbledon standard.
