SELLS NEW CARBUHETTOR FOR LARGE SUM ABROAD — — / INVERCARGILL, Friday. Cable advice has been received from Buenos Aires that that Mr. James Garlile Whiteman, a native of Wanganui, has sold the South American rights of his patent carburettor, for using crude alcohol for motors, for 500,000 dollars. He has been working for 30 years on the invention. He also has floated companies in South Africa and London for exploiting the patent.
