GRAND THEATRE

TO-NIGHT All the colour and glamour of the Old South-west in its stagecoach days is presented as the background to "The Cisco Kid," an exciting Fox film of those doughty enemies, the Cisco (Warner Baxter) Kid and Sergeant (Edmund) Mickey Dunn, which opens at the Grand Theatre to-night. Through a gorgeous pageantry of cactus-studded desert and cloud-tipped mountains at dawn, the two noted O .Henry characters of "In Old Arizona" ride in a hot pursuit delightfully interrupted by surprising flots and counterplots. The worlc of the two principals has a convincing polish and surety, Conchita Montenegro is utterly charming as Baxter's inamorate and Nora Lane is appealing as the plucky pioneer friend of the gallant and hostile pair. The photography reaches new heights with its marvellous desert backgrounds of huge saguaro cacti and rugged Arizona mountains. The story contains enough thrills and unex?pected situations to /satxsfy the most exacting spectator, while. the direction of Irving Cummings reveals a flne mastery of technic. A splendid supporting cast headed by Charlie Stevens and James Bradbury, Jr., gives the final touch to a very delightful piece of scre^': entsrtainment.
