MAJESTIC THEATRE
TO-NIGHJx "White Cqi'gOj" which opens at the Maj estic/Theatr e to-night, is W. P. Film's/screen version of Vera Symingtoh's novel "Hell's Playground" and made famous by Leon Gordon. With rare distinction Director- J. B. I Williams has "chosen to reproduce the vividness of the novel exactly as written in the hook. All the pathos, and dramatic poignancy of Miss Symington's story are faithfully recorded in the celluloid adaptatio.n. The story rings true from every standpoint and for sheer drama and realism, has yet to be beaten since the advent of the sound medium. The story deals with life in the very raw — and the action takes place on a West African rubber plantation. It loses nothing as a dialogue picture and the photography is beautifully realistic. Gypsy Rhouma, who plays the part of Tondeleyo, gives a splendid interpretation of the hative girl. Miss Rhouma's many successfnl years on the dramatic stage show up well in her flawless technique and she is very capably supported by Leslie Faber, John Hamilton, Maurice Evans and Tom Helmore.
