GUIDE DANCE

EVENING AT DIXIELAND July appears to be a favourite month for dancing and another pleasant evening to add to the total Was a very delightful dance given by the Commissioner and committee of the Rotorua Girl Guides in Dixieland last Wednesday evening. Amid a wealth of orange and green streamers and foliage, the dancers joined as heartily in the old-time dances which were included in the programme as the more modern steps of to-day. Mr. Painton and his lively orchestra gave dancers little time for sitting still, while several extras played by Miss K. Hall were popular. A Monte Carlo is seldom, if ever, omitted, and this evening Mrs. W. A. McLean and Mr. F. C. Bunyard were the winners. For the non-dancers cards were P'layed, Miss E. Stanton coming first in the bridge section and Mrs. A. Steele being the winner of the 500 tournament Among those present were: — Miss E. J. Harris, Mrs. S. Wallis, Mrs. A. T. Coates, Mrs. C.
