DIPHTHERIA
EPIDEMIC BREAKS OUT AT MANGAPEEHI NEAR TE KUITI TE KUITI, Wednesday, An epidemic of diphtheria has development at Mangapeehi. The malady first broke out last„ weak, and has since resulted in the death of two children, one aged 61 and the other 41 years. Three children from one family* were sent to the Waikato Hospital, one dying on the way to hospital. Five children from another family have now been stricken. These were immediately despatched to the Waikato Hospital. The Mangapeelii School has been closed, and parents in the township have been requested to keep their children home, pending investigations hy the District Health Officer, who is in the district.
