The biggest conversion of the day was £734,000 by the Scottish and Australian Investmfent Company. It is believed that numbex-s are postponing applieation until tlie last moment. The stimulating effect of the conversion on all securities is shown by the fact that 365 leading stOcks appreciated in capital value to the extent of £273,000,000 durixig the month ended July 20.
