THEATRE ROMANCE
ADMIRER WITH BOUQUET FINALLY WINS ACTRESS. A fiction-like, real-life romance in a London theatre was revealed lately. Behind the engagement of Miss Paddy MacFarlane and Mr. George Spurrett is the romantic story of a wealthy man who fell in love with a dancer when he saw her one eveniug when he paid a casual visit to the Windmill Theatre. The story was told by Miss MacFarlane. "It was some time ago," she said, "that while dancing I noticed a certain man who always sat in the -same stall. Night after night he was there. One day I received a bouquet of flowers and a note asking me if I would meet hinr. Finally we were introduced by a mutual friend, and we fell in love with each other right away. "Then came a surprbiVg thing. In our first conversation we realised that we had known each' other many years ago, when lI was quite a young girl. In fact, we both came from the same place, Beckenham, Kent. Now we are to be married, and all our friends tell us happiness is bound to ensue from such a romantic meeting." The marriage was fixed to take place on June 11. Mr. Spurrett is a wealthy paper stoclc merchant
