DR. W. E. COLLINS
ELECTED FIRST LIFE MEMBER OF. N.Z. RED CROSS SOCIETY. OUTSTANDING WORKER WELLINGTON, Thursday. In recognition of his outstanding work in past years for the Red Cross moement, the Hon. Dr. W. E. Collins, C.M.G., M.L.C., was efected the first honorary life member of the New Zealand Red Cross Society (Inc.) at its first council meeting held in Wellington recently. The motion for his election was moved by Major J. Abel, of Welling"You have not only given your time and services," he said to Dr. Collins, "but you have given more than your share of money; and I think it would be only just and fitting for this meeting, which I look upon as a very important meeting, to accord you this monour. I don't think tbere is anybody in the whole of New Zealand who has done such work for the Red Cross as you have." The motion was seconded by Lady Wigram, of Christchurch, and supported by Mr. N. Grant, of Wellington, who said that he thought their move would have the approbation of the whole of the Red Cross workers from the North Cape to the Bluff. ^ Major Abel's motion was carried unanimously.
