FIFTY MILES ON BUFFER
MAN'S ADVENTUROUS TRIP. After travelling more than 50 miles on a buffer between two carriages on a Loch Lomond-Nottingham excursion train, an "excursionist" was rascued and returned to Scotland saying, h'e did not wish to go farther south. Apparently he had travelled in his dangerous position from Edinburgh. When near Beiwick-on-Tweed, a din-ing-car attendant heard a shout and saw a hand appear between the canvas in the corridor joining the coaches. The train was stopped and the man, in a distressed state, was found sitting- on the buffer. He was unable to explain how he got there.
